Summary of CSS

 

What is CSS? CSS is the language used for describing how web pages look, the language that describes the style of an HTML document.  It involves colors, fonts, and layout. CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheet. CSS describes how HTML should be displayed. HTML covers structure and content, whereas CSS covers styling and layout. The reason CSS is important is because it lets you create an efficient and consistent web page.  CSS lets you position components anywhere on the page and it lets users customize web pages. If you want to style HTML with CSS you need to read up on it before. Get a general knowledge on the topic before going straight into it. There is a ton of resources online. To insert a CSS, try using an internal style sheet, try an external style sheet, and then there is incline style sheets. You should choose which way depending on your level of knowledge as well as what you want from your website. For example with the internal style sheet you would use it if you want just a single web page to have a different format. You will edit this in a notepad with ‘<style>’ tag. CSS is a very important attribute when using and learning about HTML.
