My thoughts on Emerging Technology

 

Emerging technologies are bettering our earth and I am completely for them.  It is no secret that we are getting further and further advanced in our knowledge on technology and what it can do for us. Technology is allowing us to maximize our online benefits, such as connecting with someone thousands of miles away. This helps to speak with friends and family that are far away, but it also helps businesses communicate with customers or partners from across the globe. Another advantage to technology is how it allows you to receive information about any topic instantaneously. Most people have that access at the tip of their fingers, on their smartphone. The amount of tools we carry on our smartphone is absolutely amazing; calculate, camera, internet access, calender's and so on. Digging deeper into the emergence of technology, virtual environments, virtual realities, and augmented reality are now something that we can use to our advantage. Virtual reality is a computer generated, three-dimensional representation of a setting that the user can be within and interactions take place. Virtual realities replace a real world with a simulated one. It can be used for training and education, or a game or an interactive story. Augmented reality is what really interests me. Augmented reality is blending virtual reality and real life. It is a view of physical, real-world environments. The reason I am so interested in it is because it enhances one’s current perception of reality. An example of augmented reality is the AR helmet which is meant for construction workers to display information about construction sites.  If we are all accepting of new, emerging technology then we can allow it to change our lives for the better. It is invented to bring us a new way of living.
